New Super Mario Bros. 2 for the 3DS will be released very soon. The game would have been completely ignored by me, but when I heard that the game would be available on the eShop, I paid attention.
Not only is this game going to be the first retail 3DS game to appear on the Nintendo eShop, it will also net you 50 extra Club Nintendo coins! That's 50 coins for buying a retail game and 50 more to download it from eShop!
Okay, so the coins are not a big deal, because you need to have at least 150 of them to get anything good, but this is still a nice bonus incentive to buy the game. To top it off, Nintendo is really pushing retail shoppers to try the eShop by using a download code provided at retail stores. I am not yet sure if these codes will be free with each copy of the game. If they are, I wonder what's stopping me from buying the retail copy and then using the code and dumping the physical cartridge.
